It’s the End of the Year. (Du-duh-dumm.)
Which means everyone (including me, apparently) feels the need to write a Top Ten List. I love Top Ten Lists. Heck, I just love lists, period. Here’s my list of The Top Ten Top-Ten Lists. As a courtesy to you math-y types, I have decided not to number it. (For those of you who are unfamiliar with my loose interpretation of the number Ten, please allow me to refer you to one of my other Top Ten Lists here.)

From the Best Music of 2012:
Musical Interlude #1
Iris Dement “The Night I Learned How Not To Pray”
- Best Photos of Several Years
- Top Ten Gangham Style Parodies (I hate that stupid song. Using the word “hate” here. And I hate that Warf’s version ain’t on this list. People are idiots.)

Best Photos of the Year (I am not repeating myself. Everybody’s a stinking photographer these days…)
- Top Thirty Wholesome Moments of 2012
- 50 Best NFL Players of 2012 (We can have a serious debate regarding this list…Ndamukong Suh’s inclusion is problematic if they were considering sportsmanship at all, on the other hand, the dude’s a total beast. Ranking both Drew Brees and Arian Foster in the upper thirties is evidence that the league has exhibited some amazing talent this year. Also, ranking RGIII at #47 is a little dismissive of the man’s talent and obvious skill, especially considering last night’s performance. I’ll not spoil the Top Ten for you, but I will reveal that my favorite player made the Top Five…check it out and lemme know what you think, and bonus point if you can guess who my favorite player is.)
- Best Science of 2012 (Really, it’s an amazing and beautiful world we live in.)
Musical Interlude #3: The San Francisco Symphony plays
John Adam’s “Short Ride in a Fast Machine”
- Top Forty-Three reasons to Completely Lose Confidence in Humanity (I’m embarrassed to be in the same species as these folks. I apologize in advance for any and all nightmares that result from this list.)
- Top Twenty-One Reasons Not to Completely Lose Faith in Humanity (I realize that comparing the numbers here is distressing, but one of these folks must be worth ten of the ones in that article above this one. Human beings really are capable of astonishing kindness…)
- Best Music of 2012 (Get lost here. The rest of the crap you have to do today can wait.)
Musical Interlude #4: Alabama Shakes – You Ain’t Alone
- Best Celebrity Quotes of 2012 (My favorite, by far, is Jeff Daniels: “Call me when there’s a role that’s good. I’m taking my kids to hockey.”)
- Top Ten Questions to Ask Siri (We wonder about the oddest things.)
- Most Anticipated Books of 2013 (Because we all need something to look forward to…)
